DF64, it is cheaper, solid and use the same burrs than P64 but you won’t get variable RPM, if that’s a must for you and you think it make the Lagom worth 3x the DF64 then go for it. IMO the Lagom looks great and is one of the best high end grinders but i don’t think it worth 1.6k now that i own the DF64.

It starts off fine, but then the chute seems to get filled with grinds and it comes out like a sausage. I did a similar thing. My Lagom hadn't arrived yet and I pre-ordered a Monomax. I'll still have the Lagom for a while yet though. Very happy with it so far. The only downside is it makes my grounds so fluffy they overflow the basket even with a small funnel.

In terms of grinder I have an option O Lagom - P64. Was ready to order a Decent DE1+ to go with it but they temporarily discontinued it. May have been a blessing in disguise as I'm so new to espresso. Interesting to see his comment regarding Lagom apparently going against the traditional grinder gradation marking convention so that increasing the number on the dial for the P64 actually makes the grind finer. 1
